We decided to do a post and make it a permanent page on our blog for reference. Mom has this same information on her commercial web site for her own use as well as her customer’s. We do not like mean-spirited people who intend to do our computers and the info on our computers harm, so we try to stay on top of what Security measures we can take to keep our computers safe.
We use Firefox, because we believe it is a safer browser. It certainly is a more stable browser. And it is Free!
We use Norton Internet Security because in the squillion years that Mom has been using the Internet, not once has Norton’s let anything through. That record is hard to beat! Unfortunately NIS is not Free, but Mom feels it is well worth the price and would not think of being online without it.
We also use a Wireless Router between our cable and the computer partially so Mom can use her laptop, but also to encrypt our broadband signal so people can’t just steal it.

Well said! Mom Paula also used Norton and has switched to Firefox and Chrome. Unfortunately, she must use IE for her work stuff. We are really mad at the mean people who messed up the CB.

Hmmmm, we noticed a whole lot of posts from Daily Gs and all your photos seem to be missing.
Good post on internet security. We use a number of those links for our computer too.
